I tried The Umami Mami signature facial for some beauty and self-care time last week and it was everything I needed!

I met Mandie on this photo shoot and she is such a great mix of sweet, strong, and good values! Can’t help feelingI inspired when I’m spending time with her.

Why Try The Umami Mama Facial When On Maui?

Mandie specializes in permanent make-up. Her permanent eyeliner, ombre and nano brows, microblading, and lip blush are really something to see. Maybe I’ll have the nerves to try one of those next. Would be amazing to wake-up with eyeliner done!

I feel really comfortable to let someone work on my skin who is licensed to use even heavy skin-care tools and has so much experience.

Also, Mandie’s personality makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Her fun and engaging nature made me feel comfortable and relaxed.

The Flow of the Facial

The experience started with a facial consultation to customize the treatment to my skin’s needs.

I choose brightening because I have some hyperpigmentation.

A whole journey of double cleansing, gentle exfoliation, toning (loved the honey-like scent of the elixir), mask, serum, hydration, massage, and moisturizing followed!

The hour went by with a great mix of girl talk and quiet relaxation.

My Favorite Parts

The brightening turmeric face mask. It definitely has an interesting texture and is very warming yet gentle.

Turmeric, known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, is excellent for skin health when used as a facial mask, offering a natural glow and reducing the appearance of blemishes.

I also really loved that she didn’t just treat my face but really focused on neck, décolletage, and shoulders as well. That’s a stand-out feature!

Usually neck, décolletage, and shoulders get neglected in ladies’ beauty routines.

I don’t often bother with them either. 🙊

Good To Know

There was no facial steaming, which I kind of loved and missed. So if you’re really into steam–then it’s good to know that this might not be the best fit.

The location is tucked in behind the Maui Mall in Kahului. Parking is easy.

Mandie sends out a prep video which explains how to come. My favorite tip was to wear a strapless top, since she works on your arms as well.

Is The Umami Mami Facial on Maui Worth It?

I left with that post-facial glow and a buzz! So I’m going to say ‘yes!”
